Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine is a specialized area of radiology that uses very small amounts of radioactive materials (given either orally or intravenously) to examine an organ's structure and metabolic function. It’s used to detect tumors and infection by bringing to light a number of bodily processes from kidney function to blood flow through the heart and lungs. Nuclear medicine can also be used to find blockages in the gallbladder and bleeding into the bowel.
Nuclear medicine technologists at DeTar Healthcare System utilize advanced technology that delivers results quickly so doctors can begin treatment as soon as possible.
