Patients & Visitors
Our visitor protocols have been revised effective February 6, 2024:
General Hospital Visiting Hours:
DeTar Hospital Navarro: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
DeTar Hospital North: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
ICU
Visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to allow patients to rest, and may be regulated as the condition of the patient indicates. The visitor guidelines in the list below are specific to ICU patients.
- Large families are encouraged to designate one contact person. This person will receive all status updates to share with the family.
- Please wash your hands before entering and upon leaving the patient's room. Hand sanitizers are available in each room.
- Each patient room is equipped to accommodate two (2) visitors at a time. Please take turns rotating visitors if more than two people wish to visit. A large, comfortable waiting room is available for those waiting their turn.
- Children 12 years old and older are allowed to visit.
- One visitor may stay at night, as appropriate, and with charge nurse approval. The hospital does not provide bedding accommodations such as cots or sleeper chairs in the ICU.
- Visitors must remain within the patient room or in the waiting area. The ICU hallways must remain clear to allow staff to move quickly from one room to another.
- The charge nurse may use his or her discretion to restrict visiting due to patient procedures, emergency situations, patient request or patient status, etc.
- Please remember that noise is disturbing and distracts from recovery in the seriously ill person. Please turn down phone volumes and keep voices as quiet as possible.
Maternity - NICU - Emergency Department/Same Day Surgery
One visitor (ages 18 and older) will be allowed with each patient.
During emergent situations/activities, visitors will remain in the waiting room.
Patient/family will be asked to identify one contact person who will receive all patient status updates. This contact person will relay information to the rest of the family or support system.
Staying Connected
We recognize staying in touch with patients is important, and we can gladly coordinate virtual visits when possible. We also encourage you to call, FaceTime, WhatsApp or other social chat applications to connect with your loved ones via their personal devices when you're unable to make in person visits.
Visitation hours and policies are subject to change. If you have been ill or exposed to COVID-19, please refrain from visiting.
