Healing Happens Here: Celebrating Our Caregivers During Hospital Week
5/4/2026
During National Hospital Week, May 10–16, 2026, we join healthcare organizations across the country in celebrating the people who make a difference in the lives of patients and families every day. This year’s theme, “Healing Happens Here,” is a powerful reminder that healing is more than medicine—it’s compassion, teamwork, innovation, and trust. And it happens right here at DeTar.
At DeTar Healthcare System, our vision is simple but meaningful: to make the healthcare experience exceptional for our patients, our communities, and each other. That vision comes to life through the dedication of our team—individuals who show up every day committed to caring for others.
Healing starts with putting patients first. Whether it’s a nurse offering comfort during a difficult moment, a physician making critical decisions, or a team member ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, every action is grounded in compassion and quality care.
It continues with teamwork. Healthcare is never a solo effort. From our environmental services staff who keep our facilities clean and safe, to our lab and imaging teams who provide critical diagnostics, to our clinicians delivering life-saving treatments—each role matters. Together, we create an environment where healing can truly happen.
At DeTar, we also believe in owning our work and always doing the right thing. Our teams are accountable, driven, and committed to ethical care that earns the trust of those we serve. In moments of uncertainty—whether during emergencies, natural disasters, or everyday health challenges—our community can count on us to be here, ready to respond.
We never settle when it comes to care. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the patient experience, embrace innovation, and deliver better outcomes. From welcoming new life in our labor and delivery unit to providing advanced treatments and rehabilitation services, our teams lead the way in meeting the evolving needs of our community.
Hospital Week also aligns with National Nurses Week, offering a special opportunity to recognize the vital role nurses play in healing. Their skill, compassion, and leadership are at the heart of everything we do, and we are deeply grateful for their contributions.
Hospitals are more than buildings—they are made up of people who care deeply about the health and well-being of others. I am incredibly proud of the DeTar team and the difference they make across the Crossroads each and every day.
This week, I invite our community to join me in recognizing and thanking the dedicated healthcare professionals who make healing possible. Because at DeTar, healing truly happens here.
