Why National Heart Month Matters
National Heart Month is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of heart health, educate the public on the risks of heart disease and stroke, and encourage healthy lifestyle changes.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the U.S., but many of its risk factors can be controlled or prevented through lifestyle changes such as maintaining a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and not smoking.
By participating in these events, individuals can learn how to reduce their risk and live a heart-healthy life. Stay connected to DeTar by following DeTar Healthcare System on Facebook & Instagram.
