Patients across the Crossroads have expanded access to advanced cancer treatment with the addition of Stephen Brown, M.D., FACR, who has joined DeTar Cancer Center as its newest radiation oncologist.
With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Brown brings extensive experience in radiation oncology and a passion for providing compassionate, individualized care. “Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, and patients deserve access to knowledgable care close to home,” said Dr. Brown. “I look forward to getting to know the people of the Crossroads and working alongside the talented team at DeTar Cancer Center to provide personalized treatment that supports each patient’s unique needs and goals.”
Radiation therapy is a key part of treatment for many types of cancer. Dr. Brown works closely with medical oncologists, surgeons and other specialists to develop customized treatment plans that combine the latest technology with a team-based approach to care.
“Adding Dr. Brown to our cancer care team strengthens the services we can provide right here in Victoria,” said Brett Maxfield, CEO of DeTar Healthcare System. “His experience and collaborative approach allow us to continue expanding access to high-quality cancer care so patients can receive advanced treatment while staying close to their families, friends and support systems.”
Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology and is a fellow of the American College of Radiology.
