DeTar Healthcare System is proud to sponsor in part the First Responders & Healthcare Appreciation Night on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at historic Riverside Stadium, as the Victoria Generals face off against the Baton Rouge Rougarou in an exciting summer matchup.
This special evening is dedicated to the local healthcare workers, EMS professionals, and first responders who serve the Victoria and Crossroads region with tireless dedication. Free admission will be provided for all area healthcare employees and first responders as a heartfelt thank-you for their service, sponsored by DeTar Healthcare System.
“Our community is only as strong as the people who care for it,” said Bernard Leger, CEO of DeTar Healthcare System. “This night is a celebration of our incredible team members and frontline partners who show up with compassion and courage every single day. We invite everyone to join us in recognizing their dedication, and to stand together to pay our respect to the first responders helping our neighbors recovering from the devastating floods in the Hill Country.”
“It’s an honor for the Victoria Generals to host this special night alongside DeTar,” said Mike Yokum, vice president & general manager of the Victoria Generals. “Our local first responders and healthcare teams are the real MVPs of our community. We’re excited to offer a night of baseball and recognition for the people who work around the clock to keep us safe and healthy. We hope the entire community will come out to support them.”
In addition to honoring local heroes, the event will also serve as an opportunity to extend support to those impacted by recent severe flooding in the Texas Hill Country. Guests will find QR-coded signage at the stadium entrance to easily donate to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, provided by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.
