DeTar Team Raises Funds to Power Healthcare Pathways for VISD Students
2/6/2026
Victoria, Texas – DeTar Healthcare System presented a $2,268 donation to the VISD Education Foundation, raised through two employee-led fundraisers in 2025 — a bake sale and jambalaya meal event — underscoring DeTar’s ongoing commitment to investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The funds will support the Foundation’s mission to expand educational opportunities for students and teachers across Victoria ISD through grants, scholarships and classroom innovation. This year’s contribution will specifically help fund a healthcare career development program for VISD high school students, providing hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for futures in medicine.
Last year, a portion of DeTar’s donation helped purchase an EKG machine for the certified medical assistant (CMMA) program, enhancing real-world training for students pursuing careers in healthcare.
“This donation reflects the generosity of our team and our shared commitment to supporting students in our community,” said Brett Maxfield, chief executive officer of DeTar Healthcare System. “The success of our community is reflected in the success of these students — they are our future.”
“We are grateful to DeTar Healthcare System and everyone who participated in these events,” said Aaron Glaeske, executive director of the VISD Education Foundation. “This contribution will directly benefit VISD students interested in pursuing healthcare careers and educators in meaningful ways.”
