As students across the Crossroads prepare to head back to school and gear up for fall sports, DeTar On Demand Walk-In Clinic is helping families check an important item off their back-to-school list with affordable sports physicals for student-athletes.
DeTar On Demand is offering sports physicals for just $25 for students participating in school sports and extracurricular athletic activities. Appointments can be scheduled online or by phone, and walk-ins are always welcome. Families are encouraged to bring any required school or athletic participation forms to their visit.
“Sports physicals are an important step in helping students participate safely in athletics,” said Holly Holland, FNP-C, with DeTar On Demand Walk-In Clinic. “These exams allow us to evaluate a student’s overall health, identify any concerns that may need additional attention, and help ensure they are ready for the demands of their sport.”
Sports physicals, also known as pre-participation physical examinations (PPEs), assess a student’s overall health and fitness before athletic participation. In addition to meeting school requirements, these exams can help identify medical or orthopedic conditions that may increase the risk of injury and detect health concerns that could require further evaluation.
“Many parents think of sports physicals as just another requirement on the back-to-school checklist, but they play an important role in protecting a child’s health,” Holland added. “Our goal is to help families start the season with confidence, knowing their student-athletes are prepared to compete safely.”

Sheila Browning, FNP-C – A family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience across emergency care, pediatrics, medical-surgical and oncology units, home health, school nursing, and adult intensive care.
Holly Holland, FNP-C – A family nurse practitioner who provides compassionate, patient-centered care. Before joining DeTar On Demand, Holland served as a registered school nurse and later worked in multiple clinical departments within DeTar Healthcare System. She earned her Master of Science in nursing with a focus on family practice.
