DeTar Hospital North to Host NICU Reunion Celebrating Growth, Milestones, and Meaningful Connections

Parents of children admitted into the facility’s NICU are invited to reunite with DeTar NICU nurses, staff, and neonatologists on May 7
On May 7 at 4:30 p.m., DeTar Hospital North’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) will host its 5th annual NICU Reunion—an event centered on something truly special: reconnecting caregivers with the families and little ones they once cared for during life’s most delicate moments.
For NICU nurses, physicians, and staff, the reunion is a chance to see just how far these babies have come—growing, thriving, and reaching milestones that once felt uncertain. For families, it’s an opportunity to return to a place that played a critical role in their child’s earliest days and reconnect with the team who supported them every step of the way.
“When babies come into our NICU, we walk alongside their families through some of their most emotional moments,” said Mary Claire Bradshaw, Director of Women & Children’s Services. “This reunion allows us to celebrate those journeys together and see the incredible growth and development of the children we once cared for.”
DeTar Hospital North’s Level II, nine-bed NICU provides specialized, around-the-clock care for newborns who need additional support—whether due to prematurity, medical conditions, or complications at birth. Staffed 24/7 by highly trained neonatal nurses and in-house neonatologists, the NICU team forms lasting bonds with families during their stay.
Those connections are what inspired the annual reunion—creating a space where caregivers can once again meet the children whose lives they helped shape in those earliest days.
The event will include light refreshments, photo opportunities, and time for families and staff to reconnect in a relaxed, celebratory setting.
