Visiting Policies & Hours
We welcome patients' friends and family to our facility, and believe that having loved ones nearby lifts spirits, brightens moods and improves healing. However, for everyone's safety, there are a few things to consider when coming by to say hello.
General Visiting Hours:
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
ICU:
9 am to 1 pm, 4 pm to 6:30 pm, 8:30 pm to 9 pm
The main doors to the ICU are locked outside of the recommended visitation periods and during times of elevated security risk. if you arrive during recommended visiting times and the doors are closed, you will need to ring the buzzer to the right of the main doors for admittance.
Maternity:
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily (only one visitor is allowed to spend the night with the mother; no children are allowed to spend the night).
Details
- You can have a maximum of two visitors at any one time.
- Children require special permission by the patient’s nurse to visit patient rooms, and are not allowed overnight in the maternity area.
- Wash your hands often while visiting our facility. It prevents the spread of germs that can cause infection.
- If you’ve got a fever, cold or any infection symptoms, please stay home.
- DeTar Healthcare System is a tobacco-free campus. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the grounds.
- Don’t bring patients food or candies unless your attending doctor gives permission.
- Visitors will be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
- Any personal information about your diagnosis and treatment must come from your physician, and this information is only available to members of your immediate family whom you designate to receive it.
- Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. Please check with the nurse to make sure your gift is appropriate. On the intensive care unit, please check with the unit regarding any gifts for patients.
