No one plans to be injured, yet trauma can strike anyone at anytime. DeTar Hospital Navarro is a Lead Level III Designated Trauma Center by the Texas Department of Health. Designation as a Trauma Center requires that DeTar be committed to organized, multidisciplinary care of the trauma victim throughout hospitalization.
Our goal is to deliver care that addresses the physical and emotional needs of the trauma victim. To meet this goal, care is delivered by numerous highly trained professionals. When the trauma victim initially arrives to the Emergency Department, they can expect to be met by the DeTar Trauma Team. The Trauma Team consists of Surgeons, Emergency Physicians, Nurses, and Technicians that are specially trained to receive and stabilize critical trauma. Upon admission, care is directed by a Surgeon and other Physicians will be consulted as necessary to address each need. The trauma patient receives 24-hour nursing care delivered by trained Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Nursing Assistants. Trauma Victims also receive therapy and consultations as needed from Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, Social Workers, Educators, and representatives of Pastoral Care.
As a leader in trauma care in our region, DeTar Healthcare System participates in various Injury Prevention programs throughout the year and is an active participant in the Golden Crescent Regional Advisory Council on Trauma. DeTar is committed to the development and growth of our regional trauma and disaster system.
