The DeTar Healthcare System is fortunate to have DeTar Navarro and DeTar North as the only Clinical Hospital Laboratories within sixty-mile radius accredited by the College of American Pathologists and Lyster Reference Lab for performing non-routine, specialized studies. Both labs serve physicians and other medical facilities from Wharton County to Corpus Christi, Texas. DeTar Healthcare System's laboratories are at the forefront in adapting new diagnostic testing to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses. They are the first in the area to offer the Thin Prep Pap Test, the newest technology in pap studies since the original pap smear was developed over 50 years ago.

DeTar Healthcare System is the only Clinical Lab that offers an electrophoreses method for the fractionation of Lipid Lp (a),LDL.HDL, VLDL, as well as total Cholesterol and Triglycerides for the most accurate methods for assessment of cardiac risk.
