Ethics Committee
361-788-6001
The DeTar Hospital Ethics Committee is a volunteer group that provides advice and support to anyone faced with a medical crisis. DeTar committee members include healthcare providers, educators, attorneys, social workers, psychologists, clergy, business leaders and members of the community. Any staff member, patient, family member, significant other, or physician may ask for an Ethics Review meeting. The DeTar Ethics Committee may be contacted through Social Services, Pastoral Services, Nursing Services or the Nursing Supervisor. Once contacted, a meeting with the DeTar Ethics Committee will be arranged. Recommendations by the DeTar Ethics Committee are just that... recommendations. You are not obligated to follow the committee's advice.
For more information, please contact DeTar's Chaplain, Joe Crisp, at 361-788-6001.
